Honestly Kenwood doesn't really make good subs or amps. Leave some details on your price range that you're looking at, and what you want, whether it be sound quality or just LOUD, or a little of both, and I can tell you loads of options.

Okay,..to answer your message.
I highly suggest against getting kenwood amp and sub unless you really want to match it (it doesnt really help you)..or unless your store is offering some kind've special promo if you buy all 3 from the same manufacturer. Here are some sub brands I highly recommend:
Kicker L5 or L7 which runs around $150-300 per sub. Or the Alpine Type R sub. Which runs $150-200. JL Audio W3s are good as well and run around the same price. To be honest most 10"-12" subs will be very comparable in SQ and power, depending on what you put in...of course a $50 sub will usually suck..and a $1000 sub is gonna be loud as hell, but will probably sound horrible cus it's meant for competition only.
As for amps..Kenwood amps are okay, but there are a lot of better ones out there. Honestly..you get what you pay for. The more $ per watt you spend, the amp (unless you're getting ripped off) will usually be cleaner in output, and stronger. I have a rockford punch amp 800x2. It'd a BD amp..so it's not exactly as inefficient or as clean as a class A amp. But it's not exactly as efficient or as dirty as a Mono Class D amp. A great amp company is Zapco if you can find them, Earthquake, and Kicker makes nice amps as well (although expensive). To tell you the truth...a lot of the UGLY plain looking amps in my experience, have also been the best amps (because more of the money you spend on it goes to it's performance, and not just cosmetics). I suggest JL audio as well for amps. If you want a pretty amp (hey who doesn't)..power acoustik makes some decent class A amps, usually pretty big, but they usually have some neon lights in them and look good at night.
I recommend your amp always match your sub's input..if the sub input max is 800..get an amp that can produce max 800..or even 1000...and that''ll be a nice combo. Just keep in mind..stronger subs, need stronger amps, and stronger anything..means more $$$ for the hardware itself and installaiton, wires, etc..they might even need a cap..etc..Car audio is a good money eater..so figure what exactly you want..cus when ur thirsting for more....it'll cost ya.

I found you a killer deal! You buy the Kenwood amp for $229.99 and they will give you two Kenwood subwoofers for FREE!!!! And on top of that the shipping is FREE!!!! If you have any further questions shoot me an email. I can tell you everything you will want or need to do exactly what you want.

they are "ok" products. It all depends on what you are looking for? Say if your looking to spend very little money and have the nice backup sound of subs then this it. But if you want Deafening Bass that shakes yours and other cars around you then you need more power and better equipment. So basically it depends if you want it for yourself inside, or if you want it for other people outside to hear you coming!! lol But after you get the equipment you can take it to any local audio shop to install it. Best Buy does it too. i bought a package deal off of this site and it came in good shape and i was able to get it installed at an audio shop. I would wait to buy the wires at the shop that installs it. So they know exactly how much wire you need for your vehicle. But another tip.....if you have a blazer its not gonna take much to get good bass cause of the hatch back. It creates good sound, and it is much louder than
it would be in a trunk of a regular car. Let me know if this helps

Why do you have to get kenwoods there not really the best at anything. Maybe alpine E-12s or some mtx speakers or amp. I like circuit city they have a good selection and I always get the warranty comes in handy.

its true Kenwood isnt the greatest. however, Kenwood Excelon is really good. IMO better then Alpine, and MTX. but thats just me opinion. you have to hear for yourself to make a judgement. here is a link to some of the best Excelon amp prices on the web. just match up which amp will work best for you. i have one of these amps pushing my $1,000 componets. it sounds killer. i replaced a Kicker amp with the Excelon and the differnce was amazing.

As far as woofers, ebay is a good place to look. heres a pair for less then $200. thats a hella deal.

but here is there flagship woofer.

the Excelon series is more for sound quality then SPL (loudness) not to say those woofers wont get loud, but if your going for SLP, then those woofers are not what you really want.

good luck, and stick to Excelon, you'll be very happy you did.
