It shouldn't be. I am teaching my children (2 boys and 1 girl) to wait until marriage. I hope all three of them can learn why it's the best idea.

the controversy started with the beginning of time.... unfortunately it's frowned upon and makes women feel like 2nd class citizens.... this is the way of the world and no matter how much women accomplish and how powerful they become they will always have the stigmatism when it comes to sex! when women are forward or are confident about their sexuality they're deemed sluts, whores or worse...

If you will read the Bible book of Genesis you will find that males were created from the dust of the earth(dirt) So they are prone to being a bit more dirty than females. Whereas females were created from the male's rib; therefore they are a cut above.O.K?

It is not as much now. but it was before. I think it was because men would not want to marry a woman who had alredy been with another man. Some girls still now want to get virgin until the day they get marry, because they want it to be special or just be with one man.

HIstorically, daughters have been married off as part of alliances between groups. As prized goods to be exchanged, it was in every male's interest to protect her "market value". Additionally, many concerns about women's sexual behavior and fidelity have to do with being sure whose children she bears.
