Well I've never been to Stockholm, but I've been to Oklahoma
For they tell me I was born there, but I really don't remember
I will never to go hell, because Jesus is my savior
So regretably I say...I will never know you face.

The problem is that some don't seem to understand what fear of God means.
Fear of God means profound awe and reverence.
As the lyrics say -
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
"Awesome Wonder" is the very same as saying "Fear of God".
It’s not even necessary to own a dictionary. You can look up word meanings online.

fearing God is respecting God, like you respect a judge, or your father (well, you should), or any other figure of authority, only more. It's not "Ah! God don't kill me!". Can you really develop a good relationship if you're in fear? Christians are given a Spirit of power, love and a sound mind, not fear (as fear brings about weakening, hate, and stress/insanity).
it's possible (and required) for you to love and fear God.

The kids aren't really told about the bad stuff until they get older, if ever. Maybe for some it's like that.
