You can either give it a couple of days and see if her system adjusts back to normal or feed her boiled chicken and rice for a few days and slowly ween her back to her regular food,
A spoonful of ground PLAIN pumpkin firms up poop too. Too much can make poo runny though.

No. She will be ok. If you need to change dog food you have to do it gradually, Adding 1/4 cup of the new food to her regular food and over the course of several weeks gradually increase that amount. Cheap, poor quality dog food does cause diarrhea. If it lasts for more than 3 days, call your vet. She could be sick.

If she's back to her regular food then she should be OK. A lot of dogs have this problem changing to a new food. If you want to change her food try changing it a little bit at a time. Start with just adding a little bit of the new stuff to her old food. if she's OK with that add a little bit more and more until she's just eating the new stuff. This gives the stomach time to adjust. Good luck

It should clear up if she is back on her regular food.

If you want to change foods, mix about 1/4 new food with 3/4 old food, and feed that for several days. Then mix with about half of each food for a few days. Then 3/4 new food and 1/4 old food for a few more days. Then you can switch completely to the new food.

This will help prevent stomach upsets.

When you change a dogs food it should be gradually. By mixing the two different foods together and gradually add more of the new food.

A direct change does cause diarrhea, try adding some of the old food to the new food and graduate off the old food.

I agree that she should be introduced to a new food gradually. Whenever my dog has had a stomach problem my vet has recommended a bland diet for two days and then gradually going back to the regular food. For example, bland for two days and then on day 3 half bland food/half regular food and so on until back to normal.

My vet describes a bland diet as: boiled boneless/skinless chicken breast (no spices, nothing just boiled in water) cut up and mixed with cooked rice and cottage cheese. This mixture can be served warm (I heated it up for my dog) but the leftovers must be refrigerated between meals.

Dogs' stomachs are very sensitive to change of diet. You must introduce new food over a period of at least 14 days, adding a little more of the food daily, until the change is complete. Diarherrea and vomiting are both common if you rush this process.

You can actually give your dog Pepto Bismal. I have had to give it to my dog before. If you want to double check call your vet and they will confirm that. Don't try the liquid though. It can hard to give them. Get the chewables. It is normal for a dog to get diarrhea when you change their food. It should only last a couple of days and be gone. I tried to switch my dog to organic food once, he would not eat it. He only likes him Iams. So if their food is healthy let them stay on it.

Boiled ground beef and white rice. Next time make sure you do portions of old and new dog food, so the dogs tummy can adjust.

changing foods without doing it gradually over a few days usually causes diarrhea. You can try some Kaopectate but don't over use that or she will become constipated
