Go see your doctor. He or she will have to ask you questions to determine the best treatment for your situation. If you don't get what you need there, then try a therapist. Sooner is better than later. While you are waiting for your appointment try exercise as this is often a good short term fix.

its very hard to come out of depression. you need a good support group (meaning freinds and family to talk to). it might also benefit you to go see a psychologist for you can talk to someone on the outside. if you do need medication the psychologist will send you to a psychiatrist (but you dont always need meds). i have depression and do not take meds. i am doing ok even without seeing a psychologist anymore (i stopped about 2mths ago). the problem with depression is your thinking. you need to change the way you think. its very hard to change and to come out of depression. once you do, you can always go back too!! its a very hard battle but if you have someone you can go to and a good support group, you will be able to do it. its not something you should try to overcome yourself, it wont work, and i am speaking from experience. hope this helps you!!

See a psychotherapist first and if it is necessary he can recommend a MD prescribe and anti-depressant drug such as Prozac. If you don't wand to see a shrink, vigorous exercise can help too. Some say St. John's Wort can help also

i had a major depression when i was 12 (seriously) and i took medications (anti anxiety and anti depressants) and im sober now... its just because of the unecessary chemicals that the brain produces... or consult a psychiatrist or psychologist... :)

Talk to your doctor...talk therapy...faith...and support.

Go to the MSN depression boards...there's some incredible people with encouragement and understanding.

I excercised everyday and gave myself an outlet for all that anger and hurt built up inside me. Start an excercise routine and start eating healthy (if you aren't already), it does wonders for the downhearted.

- do exhaustive exercise
- get a pet
- try swimming (it helps more if you go to the beach)
