I used to be the same way, and yea, it was to ppl close to me. I went to a doc, and I take meds now. Im much better about it. I dont do it anymore. Talk to a doc about it, it may help you.*

Start apologising as soon as it comes out of your mouth.Once you've tasted humble pie a few times you might start to think before you speak. Recognising the fact that you are being rude is half the battle - the other half is to change it. You will be a much nicer person and will find you have more friends and influence over people once you change.

I learned a very valuable thing when I was a girl and have tried to pass it along to all the young people I meet: everything that pops into your head does NOT have to come out your mouth. What you think in the privacy of your mind can be anything...as long as it never passes your lips.

For me, being defensive was a way to protect myself. In my thinking, if I get you before you get me...I win. But all I would win is hurting the people that I care for the most. I think to be able to stop-you should picture your loved ones faces after you have "went off" on them. Keep that picture in your mind and make an effort to not see that hurt on their faces again.

Maybe you are scared of letting people really get close to you for fear that they might not like the true you if you let them in. But in reality, they probably would like your more sincere and positive side if you just tried to relax and be more open minded and easy going.

Think before you speak. This was a tough one for me to learn too, but once you master this things will definately change for the better

My best answer is silence.
When you feel like answering something nasty, just refrain, and silence is golden, that way you don't insult or hurt anyone.

Adjust your attitude and start repeating to yourself how much you truly care for these people.
