It depends on how much time you spend with your puppy when you are home. The more time you spend becoming the puppy's friend, the quicker it will recognize you.
Try hand feeding your puppy dinner for a week. It will bond with the one who brings it food very quickly.

8 weeks is just weening age.
Once the pup stops missing the mother and bro's and sisters , you'll take there place.
Provided you spoil the pup. Hold it while watching the tube. This will cause the pup to take naps on your lap AND provid security the baby so desperatlly needs.
IMPORTANT...stop spoiling the pup when you think he or she has accepted you as family.
Once a dog gets used to a certain amount of something It'll insist on that. Try to stay away from food reward. IF you do it, ween the pup off it. Dont let the pup think that ANYTHING is finite. Vary everything. Keep the pup guessing.

Do you mean, coming to the door when you get there? He may be a bit young yet- in fact, I would consider him too young to be loose in the house when he's left alone, so technically he couldn't come to greet you!

He should be in a secure, safe area of the house where he can't get into anything dangerous and can't damage any of your stuff. A bathroom in which you also put his food, water and crate with a soft pad inside along with newspaper is a good choice. He should have a few toys to chew on as well.

Very, very soon he should be greeting you happily... if he's not already!

Depends on how much time you spend with the dog. If it associates you with love and food, maybe it will be more excited to see you.
