Why are Atheists so afraid of God and so intimidated by religion? Why can they talk trash about sex, drugs, drinking, the media--stuff that we Christians find offensive--and then when we talk about our faith, they totally blow up at us!? I don't understand. I mean, have they not heard of freedom of speech? And freedom of religion? I'm so confused--does anyone have the answers?

Say whatever you like about me.
First of all, I don't find sex offensive in marriage--but when people talk about it in gruesome context that's when it is a little disturbing. I don't find drinking when it's controlled offensive--I find the side affects offensive.
We fear God but! In a good way. it's complicated to explain. We also LOVE Him.
God is not an imaginary figment of our imagination that adults created. I am an eighth grader and a strong Christian. hmmm....that sounds like a stereotype to me...maybe I'm not the only stereotyper here....

I'm not afraid of Atheists...duh! I want them to hear the message of CHRIST THE LIVING GOD!! And with HIS strength I will resist the urge to cuss all of you out...
It also sounds to me like you are trying to force your belief system on ME. I am simply expressing my beliefs, you have a right to express yours, but hello? Taking a long time to explain your useless values in my opinion to me is a waste of time since I am already firmly grounded in my faith. God will come back someday and boy oh boy I will be praying with all my heart that you will believe in him...
It's called "do not murder"...OH THAT'S RIGHT! You don't read the Bible! Whoops, MY BAD! DUH God isn't going to fight with you he loves you! If your child challenged you to a swordfight would you fight him to the death if you loved him? Of course not! Do some research on Christianity before complaining about something so childish.

Well this is interesting, you're comparing apples and oranges and badly may I add.
Atheist (which I am not) don't believe in anything regarding a higher power or religion. They don't hate it because they don't believe. Please be honest here. Someone who does not believe does not necessarily hate. Also, on the matter of trash talk, sex, drugs, drinking in the media, I would caution you about the stone you want to throw in the glass house known as Evangelical Christianity, you might smash one of the those pretty Crystal Cathedrals. Another thing, freedom of religion ALSO MEANS freedom from religion. So just as you get to come here and speak your peace, so too do atheists. Finally, this idea of being offended by things on TV, here's a concept you may want to consider, the off switch or the channel remote.

You mean why aren't Atheists just like your specific brand of Christianity?
I think you're defining freedom of religion as freedom of Christians to run other people's lives.
I don't trash sex because I think people having sex is a truly beautiful thing, baby! Just as long as they're all grownup, happy and naked! I challenge anyone to explain how any child anywhere was in any way damaged by seeing Janet Jackson's nipple. Maybe they went for it expecting to be nursed and crashed into the TV?
---
Edit: YES, you want us Atheists to hear about how God loves us and how we risk going to Hell. WE KNOW YOU DO. But now you're complaining how Atheists keep telling you there is no God. It gets annoying after a while, doesn't it? And how can you not see the irony in this?

Not believing does not equal afraid. I ain't afraid of the Boogie Man either.
And you Christians are offended by damn near everything. I understand that if we were to say something about you directly, you could have issues. But, sex, drugs, drinking etc. really has nothing to do with you unless you just feel so drawn toward it that you can't control yourself.
Edit: 8th grade??? You really need to go hang out some place else. Everyone here plays hard. I wouldn't want to trash the whole Disney World thing you have going.

In my experience, religion breaks people apart and causes more conflict than unity. Alot of the wars in history were due to disagreements involving religion. No matter what your beliefs are, we all originated from the same place, so fighting about where that is seems so futile to me. That's why I personally do not accept religious practices into my life. I dont believe in categorizing beliefs into a set practice because this gives people the option to go off into different groups and fight with eachother, just like different cliques in highschool often do. Everyone should have their own beliefs that vary rather than accept a book of set rules of whatever religion they may be.

when i was a young christian girl i went to church five times a week and was terrified to make upset god. as an atheist i am not afraid of god simply because he doesn't exist to me. religion doesn't intimidate me at all. i do what i want to do. i truely believe in some of the things i was taught when i was a christians which would be treat others as you would want to be treated, don't lie, don't steal, be honest. i find a lot of christians to be offensive by judging people who don't deserve it, back stab, lie, steal, gossip which is clearly stated in the bible not to do those things. atheist have a lower divorce rate compared to christians and there are very few athiests in jail compared to christians. i am totally open to hearing ppl stating y they think god exist and thanking him for giving them something that i personally don't think that he has done for them. when they start to push their beliefs on me is when i think it's funny and no i don't get offended. i have lived that lifestyle so i know how they feel. i'm happy to be out of a religious enviroment and live freely knowing that i control my life.

Atheist are not afraid of God. They just don't think he is real. Freedom of speech mean we can say stuff that offends others and not go to jail for it. Like if you were preaching Jesus as a son of God in some Muslim countries they would put you in Jail.
Confusion is not a bad thing. It just might prove to be the root to recovery.

People can talk about sex, drugs, drinking, etc. without trying to convince you that it is the only way for you and every other person to avoid eternal torment after death. Christians, however, believe that their way is the ONLY way, which results in backlash. It's simple cause and effect. Freedom of religion would not be so bad if the Christians could actually understand what it means. I am free to believe this way religiously, while you are free to believe that way. Neither your church nor our government should force its religious beliefs on me in any way.

I thought Christians were the ones afraid of God?
Yes, you have the freedom to believe whatever you want, but it is just so obviously wrong that maybe atheists are just trying to help you out of your cloud of ignorance and into reality so you can become a productive member of this lifetime, instead of focusing on an entity in another dimension, and a life you're not living.
"Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth"
How about some instructions on this Earth, what do you get: "Love your God, and your neighbour" Real specific, it's no wonder Christians waste this life.

You're in the eighth grade....hmmmm...that makes you 13 years old? And you are telling people how to live when you haven't even started yet? First, grow up...and who blows up at you? Where have you seen atheists talking trash about sex, drugs, drinking etc? Has it been on this board? Have you ever heard of the 1st Amendment?

Why are Christians so intimidated by godlessness and atheism? Why can they talk trash about sin, damnation, judgment, the end of the world, hell for unbelievers, especially homosexuals and atheists---stuff that we atheists find offensive--and then when we talk about our science and facts, they totally blow up at us!!? I don't understand. I mean have they not heard of freedom of speech? And freedom from religion? I'm so confused--does anyone have a spare brain?
