I am a stay at home mother of three and watch children in my home. I have previously been a Pre-K teacher and have 6 years of experience with home daycare. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I am currently working towards my Master's degree in Education.
I never take more then 3 children and my oldest is in Kindergarten so he's not home most of the day.
I provide all meals and snacks and have very flexible hours.

How much would you be willing to pay for someone with my credintials to provide care for your child in their home? I am looking for new kids and am curious if I'm charging the right amount....Thanks.

It depends on your area. In my area in rural Georgia daycare for a 1 year old runs $65-90 per week (this includes breaskfast and lunch--hours are generally 6am-6pm)
My cousin who lives in Atlanta pays $130/week for the same.

What I did when i kept kids was call the local daycares and get their rates. Price your rates accordingly.

Some people are willing to pay more for one on one care. Some just want the cheapest (good) care they can get.

If ou are willing to keep kids past 6 pm or before 6 am then you cn charge more. If you keep them weekends you can charge more.

Also ask for per day rates, as those are seperate rates. Lie on local daycare charges $75/week (even if they miss one or four days--you pay $75 every week or lose your spot) or $20/day (drop off rate).

IF you chose to charge less-be sure to include the local prices in your advertising o show you are the best deal.

If you chose to charge more include the fact that daycare are only open m-f 6-6 in your advertising.

Advertising is not as expensive as you think--check out vistaprint.com-I get all my business cards, advertising postcards and labels from them.

Good luck!

Any more than $110 a week and I wouldn't care if you were the leading child development expert in the country. A person can only afford so much and then it's counter productive to try to work outside the home.
