Who are the real Terrorists?

Basicly, a terrorist is a person who terrorize people, who spread terror and instil fear in our hearts. So, according to this definition, who are the real terrorists?

Muslims?

Are you kidding? The same Muslims that tells me Assalamualaikum? You do know what it means right? It means "Peace be upon you." How can someone whose saying peace be upon me is spreading fear?

Okay, now let's try this again....

Religious fundamentalists.

They threat you with Hell, now doesn't that qualify them to be terrorists already?

The Anti-(insert belief here).

Doesn't matter if it's anti-atheists, anti-christians, anti-muslims, anti-catholics or any other anti's, the common trait between them is they spread lies and propaganda, they teach us to FEAR. Terrorists? Definitely.

I think all groups have extremist idiots. Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic, Christian, etc.

Some belief systems are more inherently designed to lead towards intolerance and conflict. Can you imagine a Quaker terrorist? Or a Unitarian extremist?

There are plenty of other stupids out there.....but there is no question that Islam seems to have a FAR higher percentage.

Does this make all Muslims bad? No.

But let's be honest about the situation....do to both material conditions, and the belief system, there are simply a higher...MUCH higher, percentage of crazy Muslim fundamentalists.

When a Christian group does something stupid...there are a dozen other Christian groups that immediately pounce on it (at least in this day and age).

I don't see that happening with Islam.

The simple reality is that almost every Islamic government is intolerant of others in the host nation, is in some sort of war, or fuinding for war, or funding for terror, with some group of non-believer, and is not criticized by its religious leadership.

I am not a fan of american fundamentalists...but let's call a spade a spade....in this society...right now...would American fundamentalist Churches fight a politician who said directly anti-semitic, or racist, remarks? Maybe not all of them...but MANY would.

That simply isn't true in the Islamic community....where the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a best seller.

Does this justify discimination towards Islam or Muslims? No. But it does merit discussion, and care, on the part of the world community.

From an outside persepective...the Islamic moderates have been AWFULLY quiet. Maybe it's time for them to demonize the extremists.

If the Islamic moderates won't demonize their extremists, then it's up to the rest of the world to do it for them.

There are appx 1.2 BILLION Muslims in the world. Imagine, that's 1/5 of the world's population, 20% of everyone. It makes no logical sense whatsoever to say that ALL Muslims are fundie terrorists. Can you imagine if that was true? I mean, that's 1.2 BILLION fundie terrorists running wild the streets. The world would be far faaaar different than how it is now. To be afraid of all Muslims based upon the bias we see in the media (WESTERN media, that is) is ridiculous.

Many beaners are gang members, but should we go around bad mouthing all beaners? Do all beaners go around with a knife between their teeth, wearing bandanas, and smoking dope? No, we don't. Some of us, yes, but certainly not the majority. Most of us lead clean, honest lives. It's the trouble makers who make it hard for the rest of us. Same with Muslims.

I have to agree with Salahuldin Asadullah and wizjp, actions speak louder than words. Saying assalamu alaykum or Allah'u'akbar isn't enough, it's lifestyle that counts.

Let's use Ireland as an example.

Two factions, The Irish Republican Army and the Ulster Orangemen.

The IRA fights for freedom and human rights for Catholics in Ireland.
The Orangeman fights for the right to stay in Ulster County and remain under the Queen of Englands flag.

Who is more right? Depends upon whom you ask.

Terrorists have come in the form of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy Mcveigh. In the form of Fidel Castro. In the form of the Spanish Inquisition. In the form of the CIA.

Terror has been at work since humans have been on this earth. Until we all learn that we truly are one, terrorism will exist for religion, politics and land.

Well, "assalamualaikum" could mean, "when you're dead peace will be upon you."

I hear the muslim leaders say they pray for peace. But, I don't hear them say that they pray that the radical islamic terrorists will quit terrorizing or that they will be defeated.

To me, if they say "we pray for peace," they could be meaning, "when you're dead and everyone is muslim, there will be peace." Or, they could be saying, "if everyone converted to Islam there would be peace (cuz then we wouldn't have to kill them)."

So, saying 'assalamualaikum' doesn't mean diddly about someone being a peaceable person or a peacemaker.

Before you start on your 'you hate islam' stuff, let me also add, that, to me, terrorism, is *ANY* act of hate and violence (physical or psychological) - especially in the name of religion or politics.

There are ultra-right wing fundamentalist "christian" terrorists who bomb and kill in the name of 'life.' There are jewish terrorists who hate enough to kill muslims. And there are islamic terrorists, buddhist terrorists, etc etc etc. ad infinitum.

They should all create a common religion called "terrorism" and go worship at their altar together. Maybe their god would consume them as a sacrifice.

Who are real terrorists you ask? They come in many different races, creeds, colors and desires for wealth and power! The Bible states that, ' The love of money is the root of all evil.' I will let you look up the scripture for yourself. Those who would exploit people through the use of terrorism to start a futile, lost cause war, like the one we Americans are involved in over in Iraq, and continue to 'terrorize' the American people into thinking that such a war in truly justified, are the greatest terrorist of all! Jesus said to, 'beware of those who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves! He meant anyone, including the leaders of this great nation as well.
Nero, the once emperor of ancient Rome, actually burned Rome down using his imperial guards, so he could blame it on the Christians, and continue his campaign to 'exterminate' them!
Hitler, the late dictator of NAZI Germany, ordered the bombing of the Reichstat building, so he could blame it on the jews and communists, and later start a war with Poland!
Then there was Pearl Harbor, and how the American people were deceived into getting into the second world war in the first place, by there own President FDR, who knew the Japanese were planning to attack Pearl Harbor months before they actually did.!
And last but not all, the 'inside job', as Alex Jones of Austin likes to call it, of 9/11! Did Bush have prior knowledge of the coming attack on the Twin towers? (Yes) terrorists come in many faces, some even claiming to be Christians, and praying to God, but all have one thing in common...their love of money and the power it brings, far more then they love the voice of God!

I do believe that threatening someone with hell is a little different then sending them there or at least trying to. 99% of all Muslims are not terrorists, as with all bad people one can not condemn an entire group for acts of a few. Hitler was a Christian, at least, he thought he was. So were all of the German people bad? Of course not. Terrorists are small numbers of people that use terrorist acts to try to change what they do not like. They use religion as a tool to try to rally others to their way of thinking.

Yes, I agree with you on Terrorists. In the Bible, it says to always watch out for the decievers especially in the last days. We are in the last days and I think there are some real true decievers out there doing their best to harm us. America must support Israel because the battle today is between Radical Islamism and the West. The expressed ideal of Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden, and all the Muslim terrorists is to Islamize the whole world.

There is only one nation in the Middle East that America can count on to resist this terrible program, and that country is Israel.

Today, the Islamic terrorists attack and plan to attack Israel and Israelis at will, including firing missiles and sending suicide bombers.

These murderous Arabs must be eliminated before they murder more Israelis--this is called being a ticking bomb. That is not called nonsense like "killing some poor Palestinian or Arab Islamic person somewhere!" It's called self-defense!
