I know many people do this to cut back on the sugar in juices, but I haven't heard of it for soy milk. If your child enjoys it, then I'm sure it's fine if you do this. But I would only worry about the extra sugar if you and your child's pediatrician are concerned that he is drinking too much soy milk. I think it's good not to give a child too much sugar, but just keep in mind that children need a good balance of everything, including sugar for energy and fat, which is essential for brain development.

I'm sorry, but why are you giving your child soymilk?? Soymilk is more of an adult type thing, not something you'd give a toddler. Fruit juices, yes, I would water down a bit, but give your toddler whole milk, they need the vitamins, and extra calcium for strong teeth and bones!

No, usually because young developing brains need a higher level of simple sugars and the like. If you're that worried about the nutritonal value of your childs food, breastmilk has had several centuries of evolutionary beta testing to crank out just the right balance.

Plus, breastfeeding also increases the bonding between mother and child, as the act releases key chemicals that stimulate the areas in the brain associated with social skills.

If you can't breastfeed due to to a busy schedule, I'd suggest buying a breast pump so you can bottle and store a small supply of breastmilk for your child.

No way! Get a soy milk that has less sugar if that's what you're worried about. If you're going to water it down, might as well just give them water.

Why are you giving your child soy milk when his developing little brain needs the fat that is in whole milk?

The only thing we ever watered down is citric juices. They can be so acidic they burn the child's urethra when urinating.
