A friend of mine just got her belly button pierced and I wanted to know what the best thing to clean iit with. She was told to use peroxide and basatration, but I've never heard of that for your belly button. Let me know what you think. Thanks

They usually give you sea salt to mix with water then to soak your piercing in for 1 min twice a day, and clean with yellow dial soap when you shower. I have always been told not to use peroxide and I don't even know what the other thing is. ( these are the guide lines I followed)

I wouldn't use peroxide, i would use alcohol to clean the area and while in the shower rotate it. Clean it well with soap and water in the shower then clean it with alcohol. Let it air dry and put the bacitracin on rotate it with the ointment on it to get it into the hole. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a day and you will not get infected.
