This really does work...I have done the same as you before. Peel potatoes cut in large chunks and add to your chili. Remove potatoes before you serve. Don't let them cook until they get mushy or you will have a problem. The potatoes absorb the heat from the chilies.

All you can do now is increase the volume of the chili and cook it a bit longer...heat helps destroy more of the capsaicin, the stuff that makes chili hot. Don't forget to watch that it does not get too dry; you might have to add a cup or more of water as it cooks down.

Well, you can't take the peppers out, so you have two options...add more chili to make a larger amount, or sit down with a cold glass of milk (to ease the burning) and eat it!

You can add crackers to it, that's what I did when my mom made it too hot for me. If it has meat in it, cook a little more and add, or some more can beans (kidney or pinto) with the juice in it, should do the trick

you can try the sugar tip, or use some sour cream and cheese to the top. Thats what I usually do
