I always seem to be wide awake in the wee hours of the morning but I am dragging during the day. Even when I manage to sleep a full 8 hrs I still am dragging through the day. My biological clock seems to have me awake at night no matter what (except on rare occasions) and tired during the day. I used caffine, eating a big breakfast, eating a small breakfast, vitamins, and exercise.

You might have to make an appt with your dr. They have a wide variety of prescription sleep aids that your Dr will help decide the right one for you.

It could be biological/hormonal and you need to go to a Dr. to have blood work and other tests done.

Mine was due to hormonal imbalance and my Dr. prescribed Depakote and Paxil, along with no caffeine, no alcohol, no hormonal birth control methods, eat throughout the day, but small portions, exercise, no TV or eating/drinking anything a 1/2 before bed and taking a hot shower or bath and getting to bed in time to get 8-10 hrs of sleep.

Avoid over the counter and prescription sleeping pills, they knock you out, but you are groggy the next day and after awhile you get dependent upon them and have to take higher doses to have any effect.

Another thing is to either buy black shades for your bedroom to block out all light (or hang blankets...cheaper but doesn't look as nice) and get a white noise machine (I use a fan instead) to block out sound.

I suffer from ansomnia too. The pills seem to help me though, but I'll give you a suggestion that didn't really help me, but maybe it will help you. I was told to lie in bed, and starting at my feet or head (I guess it doesn't really matter) tense up your toe's and keep them tensed for about 5 seconds, and then release. Move up to the next muscle, and do the same thing. Continue doing the same thing until you get to the top of your head. I think this is supposed to help you relax. Good luck!

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at.

Me, too, and nothing helps. You should go to the doctor and search for the cause. Maybe you have neurosis or something, and then to treat that cause. These pills won't help or will help temporarily only. I tried. Find a cause of it.
