Ok...so I'm not sure why you would assume that in Canada or London you would get more looks than in the US for being black...are you not aware that there are lots of people in London and Canada as well as many other parts of the world that are black? Take the Spice Girls (British)...or FeFe Dobson (Canadian)...two prime examples. think that the US is acceptant of race...but VERY unacceptant of other religions. We push unto other individuals that this country was founded on Christian beliefs so therefore they should be publicly practiced. This is very unfair considering we also were founded on the beliefs that settlers and immigrants could come here to escape the same kinds of dictatorships that we now are trying to enforce upon other individuals. Public prayer in schools and work should not be allowed...it should be private and not infringe upon anyone else. If someone needs to take a 15 minute break, which they should be allowed, then they should take care of it then. Children should not be forced or given no other option than to participate in a Christmas pageant when they are not Christian. I have not travelled to many other countries...I am white so I did not feel out of place while in Canada...but when I stepped into Mexico, I immediately felt out of place.

I'd say other nations. I know as a Muslim that I get looked at weird for wearing hijab and I also know that blacks are still treated with disrespect in America. I'd say Canada is the friendliest nation in the world. Even though I was born here and am a revert to Islam most people think I should leave this country. I know Arabs/Muslims are getting targeted by Americans for getting on airplanes and being checked a lot because we have a different faith than everyone else.

Yes it is. I think the States has a bad rap because of how easily people form opinions from what they see on TV. Hello?! That's why it's (often) strange/ worthy enough to be put on TV in the first place. I think The U.S. makes a good effort to move forward, moreso than many other areas of the world. If anything I believe the USA is a trailblazer in this area. If you have blatantly been discriminated against take solace in the fact that things are getting better and it is something felt everywhere. At least most of the people in the United States acknowledge the problem and try to better the situation. Some other places just don't seem to care at all.

The view of Americans from the outside is that they are not accepting. But that would be to prejudge the whole nation - however, they are known as the "great melting pot".
Canada - depends where you are. The "americanized" places act american. Most small cities, people wouldn't even notice if you were black. Small towns - they've never seen a black person.

I had to think about this for a minute. Most people in most countries are generally accepting of other ethnic groups. Real racism is actually rare. The most diverse populations I've seen were in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sydney and Dubai, and I always got the impression that no one really cared what country you were from or what you looked like. In Dubai, eveyone's nationality is obvious because many people wear clothing in their own national styles.

Although many Americans are incredibly accepting people, there is a large part that is anything but. I would not single out America on this simply because other nations also have discrimination and biases. It's part of being human, no more no less.

In general it is yes. I am black, I dont get odd looks walking down the street, we are not all that unusual, nor are we freaks.
In general you cant tell a persons race just by walking by them. Of course, there are exceptions like women in hijabs or hasidic jews but I am not one of those s I dont know how accepted they are but given all the people of all races and faiths trying to get into this nation, it cant be all that bad.

I walked into my daughters school for an event to which I was invited. One of the School's officials asked me to remove my jacket. I asked why since other parents were wearing jackets. He called my attention to the back of the jacket were I had the words Magick Rules and a Pentagram. What was so hypocritical was he had a crucifix on the collar of his jacket.
Oh yeah....the school cop said I'd be arrested if I continued to argue with the official.
Need I say more.

Hell no! As a country founded on religious freedom, as a pagan, I hear crap about it all the time. Even though Wicca is a recognized religion now, we get treated about the same as Muslims do, or worse! I think other nations are more accepting than us.

Depends on which part of the United States you are in. The northeast is generally more accepting than the southeast.
