If you are a young, healthy person free of diabetes or kidney problems, you're probably not in danger of getting enough protein to damage the kidneys.

Protein shakes have a lot of calories though. Be careful that you're not drinking so many calories that you cancel out the benefits of working out. A balanced healthy diet will provide you with all the protein you need, and there is really no evidence (other than your friends insisting it's true) that protein shakes do much of anything for your exercise regimen.

I was once consuming three protein shakes a day on workout and non-workout days. I was informed that's too much so I cut it down to two protein shakes a day. I began working out June 21st with the intenion of gaining mass. I'm subsequently prior the brutal first week discomfort and bought my max lifts down, etc. I receives a commission on Friday and that i intend to get a serious diet together then. Should I stick with two or return to three?

My husband has started started doing this because he was told that it helps with muscle mass. Other tips he was told: don't eat before working out, drink the protein drink immediately after working out, wait an hour before eating, and never under any circumstances eat after 7:00 PM.

The drink he takes is some concoction for GNC and uses water. It's good to use skim milk. less/no fat!

I don't see anything wrong with drinking one a day.
