I need to lose this fast for a special occassion. I am 34, 228lbs 5'3". I know I did not put this on in 2 months, but I need help now! I don't have time to do this the healthy way~ Any serious suggestions other than surgery? Has anyone else lost this amount or more in little time?

I don't know that it can be done, you can get close though. I have lost 20 pounds in about a month and a half and I don't know what I could do to lose faster. I completely changed my diet I only eat healthy I completely restrict the calories that I take in (I eat about 1000 a day) and I work out every day for at least an hour. I burn 700-800 calories during the cardio workouts. Even though I have severely reduced my caloric intake my metabolism hasn't seemed to slow down any and I still have energy to do my workouts. This is the fastest thing I can think of to lose weight and if you do the same I think you will be able to get close to your goal.

It's just not healthy. Whatever you do you are not going to keep it off. I hate to say that you are trying to lose too much in too short a time. You can lose some, but not all of it, even in an unhealthy way. Actually, doing it the right way you would be surprised at how much you can lose. Ok, if you chose, try doing the South Beach Diet and stick to it. In Phase 1, especially at what you weigh, you can lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks. I did it, and I weighed a lot less. I stuck to it, I didn't cheat, I ate everything the book told me to and I was shocked that in 2 weeks it was a new me. It was easy, I wasn't hungry, it was amazing, I lost more and kept it off, so much better than starving myself. You could do that, then go on Phase 2 for a few weeks and then go back to Phase 1 again and see if you can lose some more. You may not lose the whole 40, but I bet you would lose at least 30 or a bit more if you tried. And it would be real weight that you lost, and you would keep it off and could continue. And you don't have to excercise.

THIS IS NOT HEALTHY but your get close: replace 2 meals a day with a deit shake, make sure its not high in fat or carbs. Try slimfast optima. And for the 3rd meal have chicken or fish and a salad. And you must exercise about 5-6 a week for about an hour. I lost 35 lbs in 2 months doing this. Its not the healthiest way but you will get there in that short time.

Eat Fruits and Vegetables. Don't eat as much grain products like bread and noodles, but you need to eat some because they provide you with energy so you can still function. Cut back on things that are high in fat, like oils and butter and red meats. Sugar is evil to the dieter avoid it like the plague. Also, exercise as much as possible.

If you just want to lose weight and dont care about possibly dieing (because looks are much greater than your life afterall) you can just puke up everything you eat.
