Frugal mabye, but that's not a bad quality. At long as the guy picked up the check I could care less if he paid with coupons, gift cards or cash. That's his business! I might pay more attention to how he treated other things though, whether he gave me a cheap gift or box of candy, but I'd rather have someone who was conscious about his spending habits than someone recently out of bankruptcy. It depends on how much I liked the guy.

As long as he was generous with the tip and didn't order the cheapest thing on the menu, then I wouldn't consider him cheap.
If you have a coupon and don't use it, that's like throwing away money. Not smart.
I had a date ask me, if I minded that he used the coupon on our dinner. Since I ignore the check on date, anyway; it's not my business how he pays. Translation: It's very bad manners for a woman to notice or cocnern herself with the method a man uses to pay for dinner, etc..
It makes the woman look cheap. Especially, if she makes an issue of it.

It depends. I mean, is it like, "I have a two-for-one entrée coupon and I want the whatever, so you have to get something less expensive than that. Oh, and we have to order by 5 p.m. or else the promotion no longer applies, so can you get off work early to meet me?"
I would hang up on somebody like this.
If it can be done discreetly, and without inconveniencing your date, it's no big deal. Some women might have a problem with it, though, so it's probably a move best avoided in the early stages of dating.

once in a while no. I like a guy who knows a good deal when he see one. Somebody who can stay on a budget is a great find. But..........If you're picking a place to eat just because of the coupon thing then it's cheap.

I would think he is funny as hell and has not interest about what i would think or what anyone thinks?
If he was nice and the meal was good; and he was polite...all whatever you wanted to be....so what if he paid with Coupons??? as long as you didn't have to..whats the issue???
If he stressed you out about everything you wanted to get, shared your food, talked about eating leftovers for 5 days...and paid with coupons, then I would smile and be friends but not go out with him again as a date...maybe friends but no dating...

Most guys wouldn't do this on a date, for exactly the reason you're asking the question... they don't want to appear poor or cheap.
However, in today's world of reality, money doesn't go as far as it could. If he has certificates or coupons to use, he certainly should use them to stay within his budget. It's not always about splurging on a date, sometimes you have to respect the realities as well.

No. He's just a reguar person trying to save money. Plus, if he saves money by using the coupons, then he'll have more money saved to spend on you. =D

i mean, today we are living in the age where man and woman are equal,so the fact that he has piad shows already he is a gentle man, if i was in your date, i would not have paid, i mean lets face it , it is just a date, who would care if we didn ot meet ?? apreciate the fact that he has paid,
i hate when woman do not pay ever, as they are equal to man
(at least for me )

yes, he is cheap...but I would love that a man tried his best to take me somewhere, even when he didn't have the money... If you are concerned just about his money, then you need someone else
