It would be December through to March, BUT, because of climate change ect, we are getting longer periods of warm weather.
In the northern states it warm pretty much all year roundm and summertime is there wet season, with means it's that warm and sticky feeling weather.
BUT if you are wanting to visit Australia the best time would be either the start of Nov - Dec or then mid Feb - Mar. Australians have there end of school term finishing mid December and school goes back the start of Feb - during this time a lot of Australian families go on holidays to the popular tourist destinations, and if you travel at those times (our peak season) you will be paying double for everything and waiting a lot longer in queues.

I live in Victoria which is one of the most southern most states here in oz and for the last few weeks the temp has been reaching 40-42 degrees celsius (approx 104-108 fahrenheit), so if you want a suntan in about 20minutes come about now. Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb all very hot- even March- April is quite warm and if thats not hot enough for you head north where you are closer to the equator.

It depends where in Australia you are talking about. It's a big country. In Darwin in the north mid Winter (July) it averages about 77 degrees F but in Hobart in the south it averages at about 45 degrees F. In mid Summer ( January) depending where you are it can regularly be up to 91 degrees F and over or as low as 61 degrees F.

Most bushfires occur as a result of a confluence of different factors. Could global warming be one of them? Perhaps. Actually, I think I'm less interested in giving you an "answer" than in pondering your possible motives for asking the question in the first place. Hmmm.......
