Usually the worms is what causes the malnutrition. Most parasites such as worms are caused by eating undercooked food, such as pork. You can also get them by drinking well water that hasn't been treated.

I think it's the other way around, you get malnutritioned from the worms feeding on your food/vitamins/minerals in the food, which with them feeding off of what you eat makes you get malnutritioned....and depending on what type of worm you get, whether it is tape, or I've never seen this before till the show, Dirt, with Courtney Cox, on FX channel, it's so good, but, a guy was sick, and threw up worms, and they said he got it from eating sushi, and I know undercooked meats like bacon/pork, can give you tape worm, which deffinitely eats all your food you take in...so it's the worm which you get from certain foods, surroundings, that makes you malnutritioned...but, it comes from foods, contaminated, undercooded food...and it's not something you play with, anyone that has this needs to get medical help quickly because being malnutritioned for a long period of time will cause serious side effects that might not be reversible....but, that is how you get them in your stomach...and usually you get it too from these poorer countries and such, but, it's from food..so hope this helped

The worms cause the malnutrition, not the other way around. Worms can enter through raw or under cooked food, ham is a good example.

People can become 'malnourished' because they simply don't get enough to eat, or because they have 'worms' that they've caught from someone else who has them (or from picking up animal feces or played in dirt that has them) ... and some 'malnourished' people get worms because they are not getting enough food to stay 'healthy' so that they have the 'tendency' to 'pick up the worms' more easily than those people who get proper nutrition.
