You need to make sure you dog doesn't get dehydrated. Encourage it to drink water.Try infant Pedialyte as this will help keep the electrolytes balanced....and pray. make sure no other dogs come around as Parvo is very contageous. Thoroughly clean up all poo and sanitize your hands before handling and other pets. Good luck

If he really has parvovirus, he should be at a vet clinic undergoing treatment. Parvo is a very serious disease that severely dehydrates your dog, and treatment can be costly but is necessary for the dog's survival. It is also highly contagious to other dogs. He should be under treatment at a vet and on fluids. If he makes it through the first four days or so there is a good chance he'll be alright. Take it back to the vet and leave it there for treatment.

If you have other dogs, you need to get them checked consistently [more than once...they can contract it at any time]. Anything the dog has touched needs to be cleaned with bleach [including your skin/clothing/shoes] as this is the only easily attainable cleaning product that will kill the virus.

You said that he's on antibiotics? Antibiotics are drugs specifically designed to kill bacteria. In fact, an antibiotic will not work at all against a virus because a virus is an entirely different type of organism. Because Parvo is caused by a virus - not bacteria -antibiotics will not help. Check the medication and see if it's actually an antibiotic or if it is an antiviral drug. If it really is an antibiotic and not an antiviral, take your baby to another vet *now*, because the treatment you were given will not work. As much as possible, keep your pup hydrated. Please, please, please see another vet today - preferably an Emergency Clinic that is prepared to deal with seriously ill or injured pets.

All the best to you and your precious puppy.

Your vet let you bring your parvo dog home????????????? that is ridiculous. You realize you will have parvo in your house/yard etc for YEARS!!!!!!!!!! Your vet should have kept your pup in isolation at the clinic until it tested negative then allow it to go home with you!!!!! But just follow the directions given by your vet and DO NOT miss a dose of any of the medication. Parvo can be a terrible thing to get over and may take DAYS!!!!!!!!!

Really, other than really intense vet care, there isn't much to do. Generally, due to the extreme severity and contagious quality of the disease, parvo puppies are not sent home for quite a while. I would think you should keep him hydrated and warm, away from drafts, etc. Good luck.

Give him a lot of water. Parvo usually makes puppies dehydrated. My puppy just got better after Parvo and we gave him a lot of water and Pedialyte (Vet recommended). He didn't eat much but the Pedialyte is kinda a substitute. Hope the puppy gets better.

One thing you can do is force fluids. They get super dehydrated from throwing up and Pooping. Use a turkey baster and give water at he corners of his mouth, a little at a time. You might want to use pedialite(sp)
