*Pentecostals are not funny, they are very misled. I know because I spent three years in two different types of Pentecostal churches from 1972 to 1973.
Their tongues are not biblical, but are merely pyschological and not from god. Their miracles are fake and not one bonifide miracle has ever been documented, but they claim to do greater miracles than Jesus himself did. They convert children against parents wishes and indoctrinate them by brainwashing. I know because not only did I go to those type of churches all my dad's family were and then my dad, mother and sister started going and I know these people very well. Nothing funny about them.*

I don't seem to get your question? are you for or against them?...
I think that I as a pentecostal get a lot of smack talk from people is because they assume things without ever attending one of our services. I think another reason is the whole women don't cut their hair and wear skirts...things like these that people don't seem to get. I have my beliefs and they have theirs. We talk in tongues cause its a gift a way for God to communicate through us. My church doesn't yell crazy things. We sing, clap, dance and if or when we do collapse its cause we are so full of the spirit that we have no control that we just fall

Because they are funny. My friend is Pentecostal and she thinks her way of worship is fine but everybody else's way of worshipping is wrong. She says that it makes people feel better. They do speak in tongues when they have been baptized and they do scream and yell in church. My friend wants to take me there but I'm afraid I might laugh. However, this is called the charismatic movement and has been gaining ground around the world. So it might comfort some people but it's not for me. I prefer the usual, traditional way of worshipping without tongues or jumping around.

Watch the movie "jesus camp". It will give you much more reasons.
I am Christian, but I think that the "speaking in tounges" is messed up. I find it okay for people to be excited in Church. But not crazy like they need to be in the nut house. People will start to think that they are possed. Number 4 is also very wrong. People have called it "slain in the spirit". I believe that that is wrong. If you don't believe me...go ask a Pastor who doesn't believe in it. They will explain their reasoning.

they believe demons come out of ppl when they throw up while being prayed for.
they fast to be like jesus cleansing their bodies
they baptize people in water
they annoint ppl with olive oil
they roll on the church floor
they go to church numerous times a week
they see angels
god speaks to them so it's okay to judge other ppl
they feel the need to tell others about jesus when ppl are totally aware of him

I AM A PENTECOSTAL & I CAN TELL YOU WHY. IN THE BIBLE IT STATES THAT WE SHOULD WORSHIP CHRIST IN SONG, DANCE, & MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. ALSO WORSHIP BY CLAPPING OF HANDS. IN ACTS 2:38 ITS STATES PETER SAID REPENT BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS & YE SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST IS SPEAKING WITH OTHER TONGUES. IT IS GOD SPEAKING TO US THROUGH US IN HIS OWN LANGUAGE GIFT THAT HE GIVES TO US. AS FAR AS RUNNING & "SCREAMING" WHAT THAT IS IS WORSHIP. WHEN WE PRAY WE LAY HANDS ON PEOPLE, IF IT COMES TO DROPPING ON THE FLOOR, THERE BELIEF WAS SO STRONG IN THE LORD THAT THEY FELT THE POWER OF GOD TOUCH THEM. I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT IS AWESOME TO FEEL GOD IN A CHURCH SERVICE WHEN WE DANCE SHOUT & SING.
