Atheists - Do you say, "Hello, I am Sam and by the way I am an atheist. Oh, I am also a lawyer and I have a grown family?

Christians (or any others) - Do you say "Hi there, I am Rob, a Christian. Oh I am also a senator and I am engaged to be married?

Most people (other than a very few fundy Christians) DO NOT annouce their religious beliefs when they meet someone...so how is it that we get preached to, damned to hell, told about scientific theory, called stupid myth believers, etc.....in our everyday life?

Very good observation. I have people that I have known for years and don't know what religion they are. But the answer to your question is quite simple. Because we are Christians, therefore we are uneducated, don't know how to read, can't understand the great knowledge that is evolution. Quite simple to see in this forum. Anytime one says they are Christian or Creationist, watch the answers that you get. "You need to do some reading". Or, "read this book or that book", as if reading about a theory makes it a fact. Quite funny really. But the best part about it is, even if it is true, what's the difference? What will it change? Nothing.

Well, in my experience people who are truly practice Christianity never preach to someone...has to do with Jesus saying judge not lest ye be judged, and worrying more about the beam in your own eye than the mote in another's eye (in other words, worry about your own shortcomings before you tell someone of theirs).

Hello dear,
I may have misunderstood your question, but these things do not happen in my everyday life. Of course, I must mention that I don't always pay close attention.

:-)

You used gender neutral names. I like that. I find that after I have know someone long enough they ask me either if I go to church or if I believe in God.
