Tri: When you are dealing with humans - from a Godly perspective, you are dealing with human nature, which in turn, promotes self-reliance at times, self-righteousness and the all too infamous, ultra ego. Christianity is a growth process, under taken by Jesus Christ , via the Holy Spirit entailing a relationship.
The problem is this. When you have flesh and blood humans imbued with the Holy Spirit, a constant battle is in the works between the pulls of one's fleshly desires (sex - ty - for example ???) and the Holy Spirit imparting Devine revelation. People tend to allow trust in self opposed to trust in Jesus [God] to become the catalyst for their individual thinking. Look at it from God's perspective - you have humans who you are "working" with then, all of a sudden, they go on some kind of self induced tangent convincing him or her self that they have the better way of doing things. Sects are born from people believing they have the "better way". It all boils down to Devine inspiration versus self inspiration. The old saying applies here: "Let go and let God" - the most difficult thing for a flesh and blood Christian, to live up to ! Someone once, said: "Christianity is like laundry soap, each group claims that their's washes whiter !" This is why Western religion has been impotent (sex-ty [sectsy] ) !!! It is rather, difficult to get the "self" out of the way when it comes into the conversion growth, process.

Secty, is not a word. I think you mean to ask why there are so many sects in Christianity.
I am not biblical scholar but we Christians understand that we can never truly truly know God. (I think even Muslims like you, agree with this.)
We learn about God but since God has left so many mysteries for us to understand many things are left to our interpretation. There is a gap between what we an understand about God and who God truly is. How do we try to close this gap? While reading the Word we pray for understanding but since we cant fully, of course we interpret. So what happens is people with common interpretations come together to worship, learn about God and close that Gap. They fom differnent churchs or denominations or what you call sects.

Actually, the apostle Paul expected his followers to "work out [their] own salvation" to some extent. Christianity allows some room for individuality.
People tend to hang out with people who tend to agree with them, and their way of doing things. Most sects are really cultural clicks.
