I think if you're going to do the monotheist thing, you should call it "she." Turnabout is fair play, and patriarchal monotheism has had its day.

While I completely agree that the god entity should be called "it", my reasons have nothing to do with anthropomorphism. I have a male cat. When I refer to my cat, I call him "him". Gender is not unique to humans (or mankind, what the stem word "anthropos" means). Animals are male and female too.

The god entity that inhabits this world is not male or female (though I believe personally that it's both), therefore the gender neutral "it" is most accurate.

"It" is not the pronoun "He" uses in referring to Himself.
Anthropos = man
morphe = form, shape figure
Hence anthropomorphize; to attribute human form or personality to.
"Then God said, Let us make Man in Our image, according to Our likeness..." (Genesis 1:26)

That might be true for some non-Christian religions.

But in Christianity, they view him as God the Father, so that would mean it has to be He.
