The flu is a virus, not a bacteria. Still certain bacteria can cause food poisoning which is often called stomoch flu.

Different bacteria will live different lengths of time on surfaces, depending on humidity, exposure to light, UV most specifically, and the temperature.

Staph and Strep can live for long periods on the skin and other surfaces. Spore-forming bacteria, like species of Baccilus and Clostridium produce viable spores that can live even in boiling water and still cause disease. Certain gram-negative bacteria are much more suseptible to heat and light exposure on surfaces. Nesseria Gonnorrhea (causative agent of Gonnorrhea) is extremely sensitive to dehydration.

Certain viruses are extremely sensitive to exposure to light and air, like HIV. Others, like Hepatitus viruses, A and B, are more hearty.

It relies upon on many environmental factors and the species of micro organism. micro organism choose moisture, the right temperature and a nutrition source to stay to tell the story. different environmental factors like image voltaic can shrink their existence. micro organism like staph (MRSA) can stay for days mutually as salmonella would in basic terms stay for minutes.
