We almost think he's constipated and he's been going outside and laying in the snow...he's listness and doesn't want to move much. He hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary and is fine for a few days and then this starts happening again. We've tried giving him human constipation pills and they've seemed to help before...he's also been drinking a lot of water....

Something is going on with your dog that needs attention and no one here, not even someone that responds here saying they are a Vet, can tell you what is wrong with your dog. The listlessness is not good. Is he getting too cold for too long? Don't give him human constipation pills. Call your Vet and ask him if it is okay to give your dog Pumpkin Pie Filling- comes in a can and isn't spiced. This is really good for dogs when their stomachs are upset. Is there a way your dog could have gotten ahold of anything toxic? Also, if your dog is outside a lot, is there any record of people having their dogs poisoned in your neighborhood?
He really needs to see a Vet to determine what is causing his listlessness and inability to eat. Wishing you and your dog well.

It's time, right now, to take him to the vet. There could be something serious going on inside that you can't see. Drinking a lot of water is a common symptom of kidney disease or diabetes, but can also be indicative of something else. There is no way for you to know what is wrong or treat it correctly without a trip to the vet. Give them a call today!

I am a vet. Unless he is actively straining to defecate, he is NOT constipated, and do NOT give him human laxatives. If he has been drinking a lot of water, he could have an endocrine disease such as Cushing's disease or diabetes, or he could have kidney disease. All of these things can cause lethargy, inappetence, and increased thirst. I would get him to a vet clinic right away and have a blood chemistry profile run to see if there are any abnormalities. I would not wait, especially if this is an ongoing problem.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7fK

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

best thing you can do for him is stop guessing and take him to the vet.

Unless you watch him 24/7, you have no idea if he ate something that is blocking his intestines. Giving him anything made for humans won't help him, it could make matters worse.

Get off the internet and on the phone to your vet.

you need to take that dog to a veterinarian now. He sounds very sick and could have a blockage. He obviously has a high temperature or he wouldn't just lay in the snow. He sounds seriously ill and will probably die without help. Please call a vet.

How about taking him to the vet! Jeez! Make sure you also tell the vet you've been poisoning him on a regular basis with human constipation pills.

What any responsible pet owner would do. Bring your dog to the vet as soon as possible.

You need to take him to the vet. My dog had similar symptoms and he ended up having kidney stones. He nearly died. He needed surgery.
