It depends on the size of the dog. Large breeds usually can have puppies until they are 8 years, and small breeds can have them until they are 12 years. BUT you should never let a female breed after 6 years old, because it causes too many problems and it could kill the mother and the puppies.

Are you actively breeding your *****?
If not, spaying will decrease the incidence of sexually related cancers. And would be the best thing to do, imho

I would never breed one of my girls after their 7th birthday.
