First a 8 week old Golden is not going to walk anywhere. He may pull on the leash and sit down and then you will have to pick him up and carry him. Also the pup hasn't had all it's shots yet so bring him in with other dogs is not a good idea.
Take the pup outside even if there is snow on the ground and just play with him for about 15 minutes. Make sure he goes potty when out side and praise him for doing potty outside. Inside they usually play for a few more minutes then crash and sleep. You should do this a few times a day.
Pups at this stage sleep a ton and as he gets older then the walks can start. Usually around 10 weeks and up. He is a baby and should be treated as such.
Get him into a good routine and he and you will be very happy.
None of my dogs ever dug holes maybe that's because I always keep them busy. Doesn't say much for people who let their dogs become bored and destructive.

Most pups free play until they just can't anymore. At 8 weeks this is usually enough exercise for the pup. Once the pup has had all its shots, then start leash training and take it for short walks...10-15 minutes at the most between rests. Too much forced(leashed) exercise before a dogs skeletal system is fully developed can cause problems.

a lot of exercise. The bigger the dog the more exercise it needs plus puppies are soo hyper. I'd saw walk the pup and play with it A LOT during the day, to keep it occupied.

Make sure it has all its shots before taking for long walks or where other dogs are. When I first got my puppy I brought it to the park, but my vet said I should wait a few weeks before taking it to places like that and rather to exercise her more in my own yard.

Everyday about a good 20 min. walk. Twice or three times if you can. Puppies have a lot of energy, and this will help with poor behavior bacause it tires them out! Hope this helps!!
