You are right. Calling homosexuality a sin is not judging, that is what the Bible calls it. People are calling out the sin, not the sinner.

You wrote "them." By this I take it you mean homosexuals. After all, a heterosexual isn't going to feel "judged" by your opinions on homosexuality. So to restate this, you are telling a group of people that what they do is a sin. So yes, you are judging them in exactly the same way to judge killers by saying "murder is a sin."
Perhaps you want to say is that "sin" is an independent, self-subsisting entity. That would be a senseless abstraction. Sin, if it means anything, is human activity. So let's stop the pretense. You are judging sinners.
By the way, there is another very human activity at work here: self-righteousness.

Sin = Moral judgment about a bad thing
Murder = Bad thing that causes harm to others.
Judgment= Murderers are sinners.
Sin= Moral judgment about a bad thing
Homosexuality= People who live and love the same as you and I whose lives are not harming a soul.
Judgment= Homosexuality is not a sin.
If you tell me eating tapioca pudding is a sin then you are judging the fact that I eat tapioca pudding when in fact I am doing absolutely no harm or hurting anyone, so how exactly am I sinning? If you tell me "Well, that's what the Bible says and that's what God says" I would have to say, "Who are you to interpret God's meaning and would your God let it slide that you are falsely acting as his messenger?"
You are judging anyone and anything when you take it upon yourself to say they are committing a sin. If the Bible says that two adults having consensual sex and feelings of deep love for those of the same gender is somehow similar to murder than I would begin to question just how perfect God really is.

By definition sin is an action contrary to the rules imposed by religion. Calling someone a sinner IS a judgement.
Comparing homosexuality to murder is ignorant. Murder is a crime punishable by law.
Sexual orienatation is not a conscious choice, it's biological condition, people are born this way (like having blue eyes or red hair). Judging them for that is ignorant and hurtful.
I suggest that before passing a judgement we should educate ourselves.

The typical Christian objection to homosexuality is not based on sin, but rather disgust. Though they claim it is because of sin, their hypocritical actions prove otherwise. They focus so much on homosexuality being an abomination, when the bible says in the very same book (Leviticus) that eating shrimp and wearing clothes made of blended materials are also sins. When the Christians show more consistancy in their objections to sin, they might be taken more seriously. Until then we must assume that they use the bible to support their prejudices and hatred. Of course not ALL Christians are like this, but I believe it's safe to say well over 50% of them.

Because if a person murders someone they don't often think of themselves as a murderer (just a victim of cercumstance), but a man/woman who is openly gay thinks of him/herself as a homosexual. So when you say homosexuality is a sin he/she feels that you are calling him/her a sinner. Only Christians don't mind being called a sinner. To us it like being a cancer suvivor, or finally being debt free. Others think of it as a personal attack because the world has distorted the bible so much that the unbelieveing think all you have to do is be a good guy and you get a pass on Hell.

"Saying that something is a sin" is not the same as "judging someone for that sin" although they are often related.
Congress, for example, has passed a law that says that murder is illegal and has certain punishments. But congress does not judge the murderer, only the court system does that (judge and/or jury depending on the case). Then the judge hands down the punishment as directed by the law of the land (yes, created by congress).
So I'm going to go with NOPE on this one.

Interesting responses here. I don't believe that repeating God's words is judging. Determining the outcome of such things could be considered judging. Just stating the facts isn't a judgement. I was gay, and I knew that God called it a sin. I received His grace to get free of those sinful desires. I will continue to tell people that it is a sin, but I follow it up with the fact that there is hope for change, they're not born that way.
The only bad judgement I see out there is the idiots telling people they're going to hell for their sins. That is just pointless and counterproductive, maybe a way to boost one's own pride. People respond to kindness and love, not condemnation. Love the people, then if they accept the free gift of Christ, the sin problems will be dealt with in their journey.

If your religion said eating shrimp is a sin (which it does) does it also hate shrimp? Yes actually, same verse also condemns shrimp, calling them an abomination.
IT IS NOT WRONG. It is not a sin, those that practice it are not sinners. If they are not christians, how can they violate a beleif that doesn't apply to them? Go to the jungle and condemn the people that are working on Sunday because they don't know when Sunday is. Or maybe you don't judge them, just think they are going to hell because they are working to feed their children on the day of rest.
You have no right to say what is wrong for someone else, only yourselves.

Because only G-d has the authority to judge sins. And for you to say what you believe to be a sin is saying you are as all knowing as G-d, and can speak for him. You are standing in judgement of someone instead of letting G-d do it himself.

Murder is a crime. It can go before a judge.
Until the 1990s, homosexual behavior also was a US crime. Even though there was no victim, men were sent to prison for 20 years for nothing more than engaging in consenting-adult sexual behavior.
Can you imagine that when you start talking about homosexuality as a sin, we see the jailhouse looming in our future?
