Hey. If your parents are pastors, they are going to love you and forgive you. Be honest with them. Sit them down and tell them what you are feeling.

They probably won't be mad, but more upset because you are in so much pain. Once it is in the open and eveyone knows, you can get some help.

It will be ok. I think you will be surprised to find that your parents are ok with it and just want you to be ok and feeling better.

I went through a very similar situation several years ago. My parents weren't pastors, but I was extremely close with my mom. I had kept my suicidal thoughts a secret for so long I was scared to tell her. But when I did, she was definitely more concerned than upset. Of course, she wondered why I didn't tell her sooner, but she was more interested in getting me help. Also, when my pastor found out what was going on, there was definitely no anger and she turned out to be one of the most helpful people when I was getting treatment. So I think that all in all, you really need to worry about what you need, not what other people are going to think. I would strongly encourage you to talk to your parents. I'm not sure that I would have gotten through the last few years without the help and guidance of my parents. It is definitely helpful to have someone to support you.

Lena, hopefully your parents love you enough to want to help you through this. Getting help is more important than hurting their feelings or worring about them getting mad. This is too important to get though alone, so trust that they love you and will get you the help you need.

Hang in there!
