Nursing Home Special
(This seems like something old people would drink. Feel free to rename.)
Three (3) Large ice cubes, the kind you make in a tray, not the automatic cube maker, in a short tumbler. This is very important.
Two (2) Shots Cointreau
Two (2) Dashes Angostura Bitters
Fill glass with club soda, stir, and serve w/ a twist.

Mountain Dew Code Red with a shot or two of Bacardi Orange Rum... mmmmmmmmmm... to make it a true coctail u could probably add some grenadine and cherries to add the asthetics.

i like to take 2 parts grey goose, 1 part orange juice, 1 part cranberry juice, 2 parts absinthe (the real stuff). mix it like you were making a martini and pour it into a martini glass. it packs a little kick, but it will leave you with a nice buzz... i call it the fruity green goblin.

Here is a wonderful recipe from Bobby Flay totally delicious dipping sauce...sweet and spicy! I made this for a Super Bowl party and it was a hit. Instead of boiling the shrimp as the recipe says I skewerd the shrimp and grilled on the BBQ and instead of mint in the dipping sauce I used a bunch of cilantro because I like to change recipes to the taste I like.
Shrimp Cocktail with Serranno Dipping Sauce
1 pound large shrimp (about 36)
Kosher salt
Chili oil, for drizzling, optional
Fresh cilantro leaves
Serrano-Mint Sauce, recipe follows
Serrano-Mint Sauce:
1 cup tightly packed fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
2 serrano chiles, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons fish sauce
Kosher salt
For the shrimp: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Turn off heat, add shrimp, and let stand in water until just cooked through, about 3 minutes. Drain and cool. Peel shrimp, leaving tails on, and devein. Season shrimp with salt. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
For the serrano-mint sauce: Place all ingredients, except for salt, in a blender. Pulse until smooth. Season with salt. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Bring to room temperature before serving.
Bring shrimp to room temperature just before serving. Drizzle with chili oil, if using. Sprinkle shrimp with a few cilantro leaves. Serve shrimp with serrano-mint sauce for dipping.
