No and you might want to mention that to her doctor. Generally people dont have BO until their hormones start up and so she may have some hormonal imbalances -ask the doctor!!

And just what did SusyQ mean about some people being nasty we are talking about a 4 year old child for crying out loud!!

It's not normal but there are alot of 4 and 5 year olds that are developing b.o.!! Maybe she got into some deoderant bc once you put on deoderant you have to keep on using it

This is not your incapacities of bathing your child this is a hormomal issue...BUT i highly advise against using deoderant on your four year old...Alot of deoderants and antipersperants have cancirogens. Anit-persperants are worse they stop you from sweating and this is detrinmental to the natural functioning of the body. You need to talk to your doctor...and check in the pharmacy (or naturla food shop) for the deoderant crystal...it's a salt kind of thing..they cost a bit more but last five times as long and wont screw up the natural body. You just have to wet it to apply it...if your daughter is already using deoderant watch out for when she is twenty..she'll possibly end up with a breast tumor!!!

Blah blah to all the crap. You develop a smell in your glands because of bacteria. Everyone has bacteria and it's actually good for you because it keeps other harmful bacteria away. If she has an odor problem then it's because of an excess of bacteria under her arms and is not harmful. Bathe regularly of course, but a couple of times a day use a baby wipe and give it a quick wipe to keep it clean. I wouldn't use deodorant, but if you're going to a park or social event and there might be some sweating then bring extra wipes with you. It's also a good idea to get her to drink an extra glass or two of water just to help get rid of some more toxins....my kids hate water, and if she's like that then fill up some ice cube trays and add food coloring to them...they love the colored ice cubes and you're not adding the extra sugar or anything like kool-aid.

It's most likely Precocious Puberty.
Several of my kids had it.
Talk to your Pediatrician and s/he will ask some questions and possibly send your child to a Pediatric Endocrinologist. Sometimes it can be caused by a tumor on the Pituitary gland, but usually not.The Endo may do a CAT scan on your childs' brain.
It is usually caused by factors such as chlorine in our water supply (turns into a form of Estrogen) and hormones added to our food supply. It scared me badly when my daughters got it, but we switched to a more organic food supply and their maturation slowed.
Good luck.

I don't think a 4 year old should be using deodorant. Make sure you're washing her properly and take her to the doctors just in case of a hormone or gland problem.

Regular baths and clean clothes should control most odor. You might also pay attention to the foods you feed her because they can affect the smell of perspiration and breath. Also there might be smells on her from the environment, fireplace smoke, cigarette smoke, etc.

If none of that does the trick you should consult the pediatrician to see if there's a health reason for it. It deserves your attention, no one wants to be the smelly kid.

Not normal at all. Do you bathe your child everyday or at least every other day? If the child is otherwise clean, you should take her to the doctor. There could be a medical problem here.

How often do you bathe her? I'm not being a smart a** it's just that some people don't realize that kids should bathe every day.
They play hard and get into all kinds of things. Bless you and good luck.
