Usually, it's safe. In fact, there is a subculture called "freeganism," whose members refuse to purchase food, living instead on what's thrown out of restaurants, grocery stores, and even leftovers that other people toss into garbage cans.

If I were forced to be a freegan, I would be most concerned about food poisoning, and also with communicable diseases such as hepatitis.

I wager a dang greenback that if I ate some uncooked pink meat i could get ill as a canines! keep in mind: you suggested you observed this on television. Even certainty exhibits(and documentaries) on television could nicely be scripted and edited and doubtless not coach the *actual* tale. It replaced into probable pretend, hunny! Sorry. uncooked meat isn't sturdy for you, and that i will stick to that concept til the day I die! it quite is not sturdy to consume uncooked meat. and that i'm a large advise for hand washing!!!! It is in poor taste to make that.
Is not hygienic but, not cause infections necessarily.
To eat other people's leftovers can produce infections in case they suffer illnesses that contaminate the saliva or these people don't wash his hands before eating.
Is general rule that all should wash his hands before eating.
Also, the food should be elaborated under rules of hygiene and security.

Well, if it's your sister, or your mother, or your spouse, you're probably pretty safe. I would not do it with a stranger's food.

if they have a cold or something, you could catch it. was it refrigerated or heated before you ate it? that would help kill germs. I eat my mom's leftovers, but I know she's healthy.

no, because even if the person isn't sick you can still get sick. but, if you know the person really well and don't care if you get sick, then go ahead.
