Hi Yvette,
I'm a Christian and I study in the original manuscripts - for about 35 years now.
I was brought up Catholic - make sure you read a "King James Bible", not the Catholic one, okay?
I am not trying to offend anyone here, its just that the best translation job was done when the King James Bible was born. I have the "Catholic" Bible, and I'm afraid to say, its the very worst of all the translation jobs done.
Go to the Book of Ezekiel, and from Chapter 40, and all the way to the end, its all about what you and I will be doing in the eternity;
And quess what!! Lots and lots of animals are there. I look forward to seeing all of my little sweet "babies" that have died through the years, and you should too - God loves his animals, just like us!!~
EVETTE, HERES AN EDIT TO THIS:
The person who mentions Eccl 3:21 is not correct; the word "beasts" used in the passage is "cows". It is only a passage to describe to man that his body goes into the ground, just like a cow, but his soul goes to heaven. It is not meaning that animals do not go to Heaven;
besides, keep in mind that when Christ returns,
"heaven" will be right here on good ol earth, not somewhere in the sky. Animals will be here, I guarantee it.

Nowhere does Scripture explicitly state that animals do not have souls...There is nothing in Scripture I know of that would preclude the possibility of animals' continued existence...The Bible does give us some reason to hope that departed animals will be restored. We read in the Bible that redemption is a cosmic matter. The whole creation is destined to be redeemed through the work of Christ (Romans 8:21), and we see the images of what heaven will be like; beautiful passages of Scripture tell us about the lion and lamb and other animals being at peace with one another.(Isaiah 11:6-8). Whenever heaven is described, though it may be in highly imaginative language, it is a place where animals seem to be present. Whether these are animals newly created for the new heavens and the new earth, or they are the redeemed souls of our pets that have perished, we can't know for sure.

a lot of people have a very wrong idea about what heaven is.
Genesis 1:21 calls all animals souls. The soul is the body.
Jesus said, "the meek will inherit the earth" Where also the animals will live. But in heaven it is doubtful any animals will be there.
What will heaven be like, what will we do?
(Luke 20:27-35) 27Â However, some of the Sadducees, those who say there is no resurrection, came up and questioned him, 28Â saying: “Teacher, Moses wrote us, ‘If a man’s brother dies having a wife, but this one remained childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up offspring from her for his brother.’ 29Â Accordingly there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife and died childless. 30Â So the second, 31Â and the third took her. Likewise even the seven: they did not leave children behind, but died off. 32Â Lastly, the woman also died. 33Â Consequently, in the resurrection, of which one of them does she become [the] wife? For the seven got her as wife.” 34Â Jesus said to them: “The children of this system of things marry and are given in marriage, 35Â but those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.
(1 Corinthians 15:50) 50Â However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom, neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
(1 Corinthians 15:40-41) . . .heavenly bodies, and earthly bodies; but the glory of the heavenly bodies is one sort, and that of the earthly bodies is a different sort. 41 . . .
(1 Corinthians 15:35) . . .: “How are the dead to be raised up? Yes, with what sort of body are they coming?”
(Revelation 5:9-10) . . .blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”
Those in heaven it says will rule over the earth.
Isaiah 65:17 says we will have a new heavens and new earth.
During judgement day all those in the grave will come back.
Isaish65:25 it says the lion will lay down with the lamb. The lion will eat straw just like the bull. So even the animals will be at harmony with each other.

There is no reference in the Bible that animals go to Heaven, but it could be because God didn't want us to focus on animals, or it could be that they return to the earth and that's it.
I'm an animal lover and I really hope that there are animals in Heaven, but that is a worldly desire of mine. It may not matter to me in Heaven. I don't really know. I have lots of animals that have died over the years and I miss them all.
I know there is a reference in the Bible about Jesus and we Saints coming back on horses, but, whether or not they will be created for that purpose or whether they are just there, I have no idea. It doesn't say.

I don't think they will make it to heaven.
Nothing in scripture to make me believe animals go to heaven.
If that were true, could bad animals go to hell?
That's a thought.
There apparently will be animals in the new heaven and earth, as it says that the lamb will be able to lay down beside the lion, and not be afraid.
Ezekiel 40-48 are about Christ's reign on this earth after the time of Jacob's trouble. They are not about heaven today.

No, animals do not go to heaven. Animals are part of the natural environment, just like plants, water and rocks. We use all of these things for a variety of purposes, including domestication of animals, also for a variety of purposes. There is no reason to think that domestication of an animal endows it with eternal life. An animal is an animal, and much as we may have affection for some of them, and they for us, when they die they cease to exist. Only those created in God's image are immortal.

I say my prayers at night and always ask God to take care of my dogs. I have often heard the psychic John Edwards tell people that their pets are with a family member in the afterlife. If he is right, you will definitely see your dog again, and so will I.

Your dog is indeed in dog heaven where she can chase cats, cars, bikes and fire trucks all day, go on long drives with her head out of the window, and eat everything she wants, edible or not.
