I have a 97 dodge neon. SOHC and automatic. I am redoing the whole motor and need to know where I can find some good performance parts that wont completly break me. I am looking for things like headers, turbo charger, crome dress up kits, and other parts for the motor and the body. thanks so much for your help.

port and polish is very tedious, but effective. a dremmel beats doing it by hand. an msd coil pack would offer a more efficient and controlled spark when coupled with performance wires and some NGK plugs resulting in some slight power gains. a programmer or performance chip will help utilize all your other upgrades. also, for the most power to $$ HP increase, look into a small nitrous kit. you can safely spray half your factory horsepower rating. if factory is 150, then a 75 shot would suffice, just make sure to use a standard (non platinum or iridium) spark plug that is two heat ranges colder than your factory plug.

Try MoPar Performance Parts catalogue. Then comparison shop at your nearest Speed Shop. You should also consider looking in Hemmings Motor News. If necessary, try eBay for the lowest prices, but be careful that the part actually is in good condition and is useable for your application.

You can go to about any auto parts store and get a cam and headers and other engine hard parts.....Believe it or not. You'll probably have to twist someone's arm because they'll have to dig up a parts catalog. As far as your transmission goes most tranny shops should have some sort of shift kit for that transmission.
