How long should a bodybuilding cutting cycle usually take for a person with just a little extra fat on them? I can see my abs but they still have some fat on them and i'm not very veined up yet.. I'll be starting in March and hopefully be done by May something, haven't set a date yet.. That seems like a reasonable time period, I think. I plan on doing 1hr 1/2 or 2hrs every other day of cardio, after my weight training.

Let the mirror be your guide - your cutting cycle should last as long as it takes to get the desired results. That said, diet may be more important than increased cardio, which may catabolize your hard-earned muscle gains. I was 162 pounds, lean and cut, running 10-20 miles/week, lifting weights and dieting. I couldn't gain a pound of muscle. I cut out the running and upped my protein intake and I gained 10 pounds of muscle within a couple of months without losing my abs. My plan is to get up to 180 and then chisel down to 175 or so using carb-cycling, which may be effective for you. You go low- or no- carbs (<30g/day) for several days, then eat carbs during an approximately 36-hour period, then go back to low-no carbs, and repeat the process. Good luck!

Food plays such an critical part in our lives, and yet it’s one of our worst enemies as well. It takes nearly nothing for a healthful diet to turn into one that packs on the pounds or causes well being difficulties! Modify this with Metabolic Cooking and make the food a friend and not an enemy.
