My understanding is that is all about Heart Rate.
You will gain benefit by any walking. However, if you are walking slow, you never get your heart rate up and you will not see as many benefits as walking fast. The general rule I have heard for fitness walking is that you should walk 4 miles in an hour. One suggestion is that you should be breathing hard, but not feel like you NEED to stop and be able to carry on a conversation while you are walking.
However, I did this for several months and didn't get results. I walked for 3.5 miles in an hour 4-5 times a week and didn't lose any weight. I eventually had to join a gym and try other methods to get my weight under control.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

you at the instant are not in all threat going to burn a measurable quantity of fat in one day, you will shed pounds from sweating nonetheless and you'd be conscious that right now. do no longer enable it fool you nonetheless. you may wish to run to drop extra pounds and burn fat. leaping rope does burn fat as leaping includes power released from many areas of the physique, no longer in easy terms the legs. strolling rapid can't get the activity accomplished, i'm sorry. Its real: No soreness - No income. working is your suited selection, you will appreciate working as quickly as you get the carry of it :)

all activity is good when it comes to losing weight, however, walking faster will raise your heartrate higher than walking slowly. One thing to keep in mind is that your body doesn't really start to burn fat until you have had your heartrate elevated for around 20 minutes. Before that your body is using your blood sugar more than fat stores.

it makes you do more work and work requires energy and energy comes from carbs, fats, etc. so therefore ya, but it also has to do with distance. If you run to a distance and walk to the same distance, then u probably will end with the same loss

6st 9lbs is NOT fat! You need to discuss that with a professional, your GP would be a good start.

no, and in fact, walking slower is more beneficial. Think about this...is it easier to do a sit-up fast or slow...a push-up? lifting something heavy?
Slower is always better.
