if you drink your pint, and need another one, you pay. Stop being such a tight **** and pay the dentist for his work. He doesn't live on fresh air alone y'know

it depends if ur an NHS patient and the work was done within 2 months then no u shudnt because under the new NHS contract u have a gaurantee period of up to 2 months although it does vary i would check. If you are a private patient its the dentist choice as they work by there own rules and regulations again check with the practice manager to see what there terms and conditions are. Another thing is, is it a tooth that the dentist has already filled and if it is the same tooth then is it the same filling? ( i know it sounds strang but u can have u to 5 fillings on 1 tooth) double check that its one that he did if it is then do as above and if it isnt its more than likely you will have to pay as it wasnt a filling that the dentist has done so they are within there rights to charge for new work (stupid i no but that dentistry for you)

I don't think so. I'm not sure but i think the £44 payment for the treatment covers you for 2 months.
I found this
What are the patient charges?
If you pay for NHS dental treatment, there are three standard charges.

The amount you pay depends on the treatment you might need to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

You only pay one charge even if you need to visit more than once to complete a course of treatment.

If you need more treatment at the same charge level (e.g. an additional filling) within two months of seeing your dentist, this is free of charge.

If the treatment was carried out less than a year ago then no you should not have to pay again, if it was an amalgam filling then it should not cost £44 anyway, the standard NHS charge for amalgam fillings is £42,40 and thats from april last year.

All dentists have their own policies - most will offer you a free replacement within 3 months of the original if it breaks/comes out etc. If the tooth was originally filled years ago then fair enough, they'll charge you and quite rightly.

Its terrible isnt it. I had a tooth out which broke off. I paid for the tratment then a year on he removed rest of tooth and I had to pay again. I have yet to meet a poor dentist.

It depends how long ago the filling was done - if its a recent filling and it is a dental error you shouldn't have to pay

not if they erred and the refill is to fix their mistake and it's the same dentist.
