I am neither a Muslem nor a Jew nor a Christian. I am an Agnostic.
What exactly are Muslims contributing to the world in general today. All I hear about is their cutting off heads on TV. Placing bombs and killing innocent people, and Muslems as a whole are living in poverty conditions.
I have a lot of Agnostic friends and they are wealthy, happy and contributing to all facets of the world's well being today. I see the other religions, other than Muslem, doing much the same.
Why would anyone today want to be a Muslem?

technology wise, they arent creating anything. but they are functional parts of society. many are doctors, engineers, store owners, etc. they are muslims because islam is a beautiful religion and it does have peace. (i have studied it) some radicals just destroy the name of islam

Yes, many people who placed bombs are Muslims. The majority of Muslims are living in the Middle East (Arab World). We all know that the Arab World has recently recovered from the foreign occupation, this is the main reason of poverty there. But not all of them are poor! It depends on the country. Muslims also have an economic system but unfortunately it's not used nowadays.
Your question is pretty difficult to answer. For me, I read a lot about Islam and I liked it, and the most important thing: my belief is based on materialistic proofs more than spirituals. Maybe Muslims like their religion and they strongly believe in it.

we r commanded 2 help the poor, gve shelter 2 orphans, gve sadaqa(charity) n zakat (obligatory charity). islam being a way of life includes injuctions on every subject whether it be economical,social or political.
u cant learn abt a religion thru the media.keep ur misconceptions aside n try 2 learn more abt islam from reliable sources
why wud ne1 wanna be a muslim? go ask those who r converting by the thousands 2 islam

Islam does a lot for the world. It is the religion that ALLAH chose for mankind. However most of mankind doesn't follow the Prophets from Adam to Muhammed(PBUT*). We contribute 2% of our wealth to the poor after Ramadan by directly giving it to Zakah donaters who in turn give it to the poor and orphans. Many people are Muslim because they see that Islam is the Straight Way. We don't have problems with abortion, teen pregnancies, racism, drugs, alcohol, etc.

Islam is the fastest growing religioin in USA. In this period, muslims are most notorious, this is really a serious question.
You really have to ponder upon. Media, politics, capitalists, rulers all are united against Islam, still Islam is spreading out of control. Why? Think and study...You are missing something. If you study you would find that something.

People want to become a Muslim, because it teaches good information and it is true. It is a way of life that doesn't harm anyone. It is the way to Allah's paradise. What those people (who are not real Muslims) are not following the true Islam. Learn more about Islam before giving up hope about us. Allah bless you.

if you trust the media, on trying to bring you unbiased information, youre gonna stay in the dark and not know what the world is truly upto.
The medias job, is not to educate you. Its to appeal to your feelings and make money out of that.
Therefore I would advise you to watch or read other forms of media that arent mainstream.
As an example, Ill ask you if youve heard of a man called Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Hes a famous turkish muslim man whose born and raised in the US and is well known for his contributions to heart surgery.

Because Islam teaches peace and wants the followers to seek knowledge, peace and harmony, if you studied Islam properly.
Judge a religion by it's teachings, not what you see on TV.
