The best is what works best on the type and color hair you have to start with . I use Wella color Charme and have been using it since the 70"s I use other brands I just think that this product has a great range of colors . But that doesn't mean I wouldn't use other colors . I think the Roux has the blackest black tint and like that for black . I like clairol Bleach . I have been a licensed Cosmetologist for 40 years and have owned my own shop .

Sometimes it's not the brand of hair color but your water. If the water is "bad" it can do a number on your hair that why it's best to go to a salon

I used to color my own hair when it was short...chin length. After I let it grow more, I went to a salon to make sure I was getting even color. I always used L'oreal's Feria. I always got the champagne pink blonde (I am not sure if they still make that particular color). One tip, if you are going to dye your brown, use vaseline around your hairline and ears to prevent the color from grabbing onto your skin. The worst experience was when my stylist asked me who colored my hair when it was getting long because I was missing areas in the back. It is really easy to color your hair yourself if it is short, but if it is past chin length, get it professionally done. P.S.: most Trade Secrets give a mall employee discount if you work in the mall!

OMG What a question..Personally when I do not have alot of money to afford a stylist I go to Sallies and choose Wella which is excellent and the worst experience was when a friend of mine did my hair it ended up green and I made them pay for me to get my hair re colored...

The salon hair color is the best but loreal preference works best on my hair. Just make sure to condition your hair a week in advance and DONT dye your hair on the day that you washed it, it will strip your hair. wash it the night before.

As a professional, I use Goldwell. I love their colorlines. As far as box color, don't do it. They have dyes and leads in them that can do funky things to your hair including damage/breakage. And don't expect the price at a salon to do corrective color to be cheap(if you have used boxed). I will tell you though that once i colored my hair, after I got a perm, and my hair fell out in chunks. Thank god that was 10 years ago!

I agree with the first answerer. Get your hair done professionally. They wil make sure the hair is even coated so you don't come out looking like a skunk. If you do not have one already, I suggest you ask girls whose hair you like for a recommendation.

I love Garnier Nutrisse. It doesn't fade in a very long time. Also, with every wash it gives different shade. They also add this avocado extract, so my hair doesn't smell bad afterwards.
