Thank you for running into each other instead of an innocent person who is following the rules.

You stand as much chance as your homeowner paying the bills for your accident as there is that your auto insurance would cover your house burning down.

If that's not plain enough, NO.

Which ever of you was at fault in the accident owes the other for all damages.

At - QUOTESTOCOVER.INFO- you can get quotes in just a few minutes RE Help! Being sued for auto accident and my liability was too low. What can happen? I just received notice from my insurance co that I am being sued for an accident that I was at fault in last summer. At the time, there were no injuries reported and we each were able to drive away. It was a very low speed accident and I was allowed to take a driving class in lieu of a ticket. Now I get notice that I am being sued for $100,000. My liability limits were only $25,000. The insurance company is asking for more info and said they will provide an attorney, but since I would be liable for $75,000, should I retain my own attorney? Should I be worried? Also I was just about to sell my home (has very little equity by the way). Am I still allowed to sell once I am served? What happens if they win? Will they attach my wages? I have no assets. Thanks so much for any help! I am about to have a nervous breakdown!!!

No. Even if you have an accident on your own property where you get hurt there still is no coverage on a homeowners policy. There is coverage on a homeowners policy if someone else gets hurt on your property.

If you were not at fault for the accident you could take the other driver (or owner of the other vehicle) to small claims court

The only way the homeowner's insurance would work is if the accident happened on your property. My son had his pickup fall off the jack and injured his back. The car insurance would not cover it because he was not driving, they forced us to claim it on our homeowners insurance, which went up shortly after the claim. What your husband is claiming,I have never heard of before, not to say it doesn't exist. Call your home insurance agent and ask them, can't hurt to ask.

The only time I could think you might get money from your home owners insurance for an auto accident is if it ran into your house.

I'm thinking someone was probably pulling your husband's leg. People may have a multiline policy with their insurance (auto, home, fire, life, etc.) but it needs to be specified which policies they have.
