Because everyone keeps saying how skinny and sick models are and stuff. I want to be a model and everything. But I was kind of curious. Do modeling agencies hire normal or fat people? And if your a good model but not stick skinny, will they not hire you?

Some do. Have you ever seen the models for Lane Bryant? They're not anorexia-thin like the models in the uber fashion mags. A lot depends on your look. If the people at the agencies think your look is marketable, they'll hire you. That's why lots of very attractive skinny people can't get hired as models, but the more full-figured women who aren't considered to be "very attractive" by Holly-weird standards can get modeling gigs. So if you want to get into modeling work on developing your look and try different modeling agencies. If they don't hire you, don't take it personally -- instead, ask them if they have any helpful hints or suggestions to improve your look (other than losing weight).

Yeah. There are some agencies that look for all types of people for all different types of things like commercials, plus size, etc. Skinny models are usually just for high fashion. So, depending on what they are looking for, you may get picked. I'd try it and see. If you get turned down at first, don't give up. I'm sure if you keep at it, you'll get an offer.

Torrid and Lane Bryant are both major plus-sized women's clothes distributers. They use plus-sized models (keep in mind that size 12 is plus-sized in the modeling world). Try Googling "plus size models". I got a lot of hits. Too many to link.
