basically, this guy been dropping all these not so subtle hints about how we should go out and hang out and stuff like that. He flirts with me a lot too and says stuff like 'you make me laugh more than anyone' 'you brighten my day' 'you look good everyday' and "I wish other girls were as cool as you". He made me two cards for V-Day (because I lost the other one) and he walked to my house from his (not that far) to give me the second one. When he gave it to me, he kissed me on the cheek and then left. It's been about 4 days since then and he calls me about 3 times a day and in every conversation I have with him, he brings up the kiss and how worried he was I'd be upset over it, how many friends he's told, how he can't wait until I see him next, he's always asking how I felt about the kiss. It seemed to me that he really liked me but then he told me that he has had "6 plus 10" girlfriends. Does he really like me or does he just want a 17th girlfriend?

There are several possibilities which I am ranking in most to least likely:
1) He only said he had that many other girlfriends and in reality
has none because he is really into you and said that for the
dual purpose to make you think he is a valued commodity
with other girls along with being a preimptive to cushion the
blow in his own mind if you reject him as it saves face
because of the "other women waiting for him in the wings".
2) He has a crush on you but is not ready to commit you, just
wants to get to know you better and may be going out with
another girl or two (more likely as "friends") and maybe he
was into them at first and it fizzled and he is afraid the
same thing will happen with you.
This way he won't have the pain of breaking up with you if it
doesn't work out because you were never his "girlfriend" in
the first place.
3) He is playa that has a lot of girl friends and wants to add you
to the harem, but telling you upfront he has other women in
his life not to expect a commitment from him as he doesn't
want to deal with the drama, just wants to have fun.
Best way to get to know for sure is to get know him better or get one of your friends to talk to one of his friends and find out more about him, what he is really like, and does he have a history of being a "playa".

It sounds like he's into you if he's calling you so much and is so worried about what you think, but he's not communicating very well. Tell him to give it to you straight so their is no confusion on either side.

dont get worked up over this. i bet he is a charmer with ladies. he knows all the tricks and is sure you will fall for him.
thats why he is telling you about the others so that you wouldnt say you didnt know... please dont lose sleep over him.
