He was a big tall mellow chubby kind of kid... After friend recommended some testosterone injections and karate classes, things have changed. He is 16 now - big mountain of agressive muscle (6'1, 220 lbs). He beat some of his bullies to an unrecognizable pulp! He is in court again now for the 4th time. I am very proud and concerned at the same time. Any advice?!

First, I would not let on that you are "very proud" at all. I can see what you're talking about, you're glad your son is no longer allowing himself to be bullied, but turning around and exacting revenge on the cruel little turds who bullied him is not admirable in any way, in my opinion.

I would have him talk to a counselor or therapist. He needs to deal with the latent anger from his past, and learn how to be productive so that he can have a healthy body AND mind. I agree with the karate, not so much with the testosterone injection (if this wasn't under the doctor's care, he could have kind of overloaded on testosterone, which triggers rage in teenage boys). The purpose of karate is to know how to defend yourself, but it's really more about self-control and discipline. Most karate students are taught to never use what they learn in class to harm another human being unless they are truly in danger.

I can't believe that you injected testosterone into your son. That is dangerous, he could have some bad side effects.

I understand that he has to defend himself when they are picking on him however, he has been ejected with the testosterone so that makes him extremely powerful. He should not be fighting with those children because he will end up killing someone and things will get worse.. Talk to your son and let him know that he should not be fighting anyone right now unless he does not have a choice. Good Luck !!!!
