The illegals are taking advantage of an amendment written for the benefit of newly freed black slaves. Since this amendment is no longer needed, it should be removed or revised to stop the illegal roach-like breeding of anchor babies.

This law was put in place to guaranteee the rights of every child born here. In the early 1900's many immigrants came here and many were pregnant which ones should have to apply for citizenship? It was decided that if the child was born in the US it was a citizen. At that time it didnt help the families much but now it really makes a difference.

Ireland was the last of the EU countries to end birthright citizenship some years back, and Canada has ended it as well. What we are is very slow on the uptake.
However, I also think that the Supreme Court should be given that precise issue to consider, because I am not sure they ever found that to be the case, precisely.

We are a country of immigrants so the constitution has provided for this. Our government looks at children of illegal aliens as less than citizens just because their parents...(whatever excuse). I worked in a Social Security Office (857) where Hispanics were turned away at the door just because of the color of their skin. These children will grow-up one day. These children whose parents were illegals, but are themselves US citizens. Wouldn`t you prefer to see them as productive citizens instead of criminals? What will our future be without a populace of young, healthy, educated taxpayers?

well.. maybe. Because they were born in the US man. They're kids for pete's sake. Don't threaten the kids, that'll piss me off. As for their illegal parents, ship them out, if they take the child(ren) with them then at 18 they can make that choice to come back here if they wish. But don't ever threaten the kids. We need some addendums or changes made to the14th amendment ASAP.

According to the 14th amendment to the constitution, all people born here are citizens - I don't think this is what our "founding fathers" wanted and I think it should be changed YESTERDAY!

Because of a vague law written a long time ago to protect children of slaves in the USA so they wouldn't be denied citizenship.
The law needs to be rewritten or redefined.
