Depends on a few things
1. the speed of the lens
2. the type of camera you are buying it for
3. the length of the lens
4. maker of the lens
5. what you consider expensive (200 bucks for some is cheap for others THAT is expensive...)

depends you get different types and they come in different sizes, they range from about Â£20 , in the uk till about Â£100, and it also depends on the camera you use
