Jealousy and anger are only forms of fear, and if god has those emotions, he is one big scaredy cat.

If jealousy and anger are harnessed and used in the right way - they can actually be the driving force behind new ideas and someone who accomplishes great things. So yes - they can be very positive.
I was angry at an ex-friend and wanted to beat her to the punch by having someone write a book about Goetic Daemonolatry - something she was allegedly an expert in. So I found an author more experienced to write the book, and ended up started my own publishing company so I could publish the book before my ex-friend had a chance to even consider putting out a book of her own.
I did it all just to spite her. It worked. Over a year later - my publishing company is doing quite well. The company is called DB Publishing. The DB stands for Dirty *****. I'm not kidding.
BTW - I'm Pagan.

did not satan become jealous and rebell against God ?
all of Gods anger from what I read is usually when people are disobedient to Gods righteous standards for the sake of humanity.
to many references in the good book about the advantage of the mild tongue.
lets just use some common sense here without religion.
nothing good comes from jealousy or anger. these emotions exist
but there is no benifit to either one.

In the Bible, God's anger and jealousy is very evident and displayed in a dramatic manner. You cannot categorize an emotion as inherently good or bad. All of them are necessary, so in that context they are all good. Anger and jealousy are necessities, especially when you look at it in an evolutionary context. However, it's when emotions are inappropriate or improperly acted upon that gets you into trouble.

Anger is a valuable emotion. It let's us know that something is wrong and cues us to use rational thinking and social skills to correct problems... check out "The Dance of Anger" by Harriet Lerner.
Jealousy is also a valuable tool, it lets us know we feel threatened that we may lose something we value, and we can choose rationally what we should do to effect changes in our lives.
These emotions are not pleasant, but they serve a purpose. Problem is, many people act impulsively rather than rationally.

God is Righteous and all He does is out of His righteousness, for His good and the good of those who love Him.
Do you remember in Little House on the Prairie when Pa hit a man, because that man was so horrible and Pa did not want to hit him, but the man's pride was so bad, that one day when they were talking Pa just hit him---it actually opened the guys eyes.
He did it out of love, not out of hate. He did it for that man's own good. And when God does something that we do not understand, it is for our own good- and He is glorified and since He is God and ALL Good, whatever He does it out of His righteousness and goodness.....Do not compare God to man- that is where you will stay confused. But of course there are analogies we can use to help you understand, by using man, and our justice system....but as it says in Isaiah, God's ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts.
But tells us not to go to bed angry---and that jealousy is not good.
Our jealousy is different than god's, we are under a sinful nature, where as God does not sin....
Also, God tells those who love Him that a righteous anger--that means an anger about somethign that is blasphemying the Lord or going against Him, that is ok. So to "feel" angry about someone bashing our Lord and Savior- that is a different kind of anger. Does not mean we should go kill that person or bash them...but it is ok for us to be angry about it, for it is a righteous anger.

They are attributes of God, and we have them too. Anger can be righteous, an example would be standing up for someone who is being mistreated. A Biblical example would be Jesus overturning the tables in the Temple when He saw it was being used as a marketplace. God clearly states He is a jealous God in the second of the ten commandments.

~~~sjn ,,, Jealousy and Anger are Fear Based and originate in The Ego. This is why the buddha, monks and Asian Martial Arts Instructors stress Transcendance of The Ego,,, Because "Ego Gratification" is an Obstacle to Soul Growth,,, and dangerous in combat.
Absolutely, if rightly directed. Any mother who stands by indifferently while her 8 year old son is enticed by a pedophile and doesn't exhibit any jealousy over his welfare is as perverse as the pedophile. Anyone who reads the daily paper and is indifferent towards the abominable wickedness of some, is a living dead man in my mind. I just read of a suicide bomber in Afghanistan who was attempting to blow himself up at the dedication of a new hospital. That kind of insanity makes me angry.
