I would not be without spybot search and destroy or lavasoft's adaware. They are both great products. The thing to remember is that what one scanner may miss, the other scanner may catch. I run about 5 different programs for spyware (not all at once, lol) and then I run one anti-virus program (most anti-virus programs do not play well together:))
The key is that no matter what you are running, run it often and make sure it is always UPDATED.

I agree, it seems that no one program can catch everything. I have been a big fan of Webroot Spysweeper myself. The cost is very minimal and I have had some good results with it. However it is a year subscription so it will give you updates for the whole year. Not a big fan of Zone Alarm, it does a good job but often conflicts with other stuff, such as Gmail, at least with my experiences.

i do no longer use spybot seek & wreck since's amazingly vulnerable. i prefer to propose you acquire SuperAntiSpyware. it is going to do away with any and all spyware. that's amazingly helpful and that's unfastened.
