Sony cyber-shot is a great camera. They have many to choose from and are not very expensive. I like it because it takes pics very fast not a long delay. Its great if you are trying to take pics of kids.

I always like the digital cameras that are pretty slim, easy to use, and have large displays. I'd go for a Canon Powershot. There's many different versions, but they usually don't run for too much. Try going to Best Buy or Circuit City and take a look at the different cameras.

As was mentioned, the Canon SD600 is an excellent camera; you may not want to go that high in price. If you have the time check out reviews of different camera bands at Website dpreview.com They also have prices from different stores. Stay with Canon, Sony, Nikon and Fugi.

i think a great point and shoot is the cannon SD 600, it is easy to use and in the low to middle range of camera prices.
